Filters are the most frequently purchased part in any fleet, and in Saudi Arabia's dust they are also the most consequential. The good news: you do not have to pay OEM-box prices to filter well. The three global specialists — Fleetguard, Donaldson, and MANN — make many of the OEM filters anyway. Here is how to choose between them.
Fleetguard (Cummins Filtration)
Born inside Cummins, strongest on engine-side filtration for diesel powertrains. If your fleet runs Cummins engines — as many CAT-alternative trucks, Komatsu models, and generators in KSA do — Fleetguard is effectively first-fit. Their fuel-water separators and StrataPore media perform excellently against the poor fuel batches that still circulate in remote-site tanks. Availability in Saudi Arabia is broad and pricing is the most aggressive of the three.
Donaldson
The air filtration benchmark. Donaldson invented much of modern heavy-duty air cleaner design, and in desert operation their radial-seal air filters and Ultra-Web nanofiber media hold more dust at higher efficiency than almost anything else — exactly what matters when a haul road throws tonnes of fine dust at your intake daily. Their hydraulic and lube ranges are equally strong, and their cross-reference catalog is the industry's most complete.
MANN-FILTER
The German OEM heavyweight — MANN+HUMMEL supplies European engine makers directly, so for Volvo, Liebherr, Deutz, and Mercedes-powered equipment, a MANN filter is very often the identical item that comes in the OEM box. Quality control is impeccable. Pricing sits slightly premium among the three, and availability in KSA is good through specialist channels though less ubiquitous than Fleetguard.
The Practical Rules
HESP stocks Fleetguard, Donaldson, and MANN ranges for the common CAT, Komatsu, Doosan, Volvo, and Cummins applications in Saudi Arabia, cross-referenced to your OEM numbers. Send your machine list and we will build the filter program.
